Toronto's silly management was insistent:
"We want to be wowed. We want to be dazzled. We want to pee ourselves just a little at the offer for Halladay."
The dazzling offer didn't come. Nobody was willing to trade away their future. Too bad, I guess next time Toronto will have to come to the bargaining table without the OBVIOUS intention of fleecing someone for all they've got. When you're insisting on "being dazzled" or whatever the moron said, a lot of people take that to mean you're insisting on getting a bargain for yourself, rather than making a mutually beneficial trade. And if there's one thing you don't want to do, it's tell the world that you've got the best of another GM.
